Marolt Rockgut had seven offspring during his life. He had five male children and two
female children. With an insatiable
appetite and a quick temper, an outraged Marolt would make a meal of any
offspring, or any other man or ogre that upset him. Of his seven offspring, only one
still lives to this day.
Sorubb the Bloodyhanded ascended to Tyrant status when he was only seventeen (in
human years). It was during the
celebration of his birthday, which also was the day of feasting in honor of the
Great Maw, that Sorubb would defeat his father in combat and establish himself
as the new Tyrant.
During the feast, Sorubb consumed large amounts of alcohol, even to ogre
standards. Marolt never took part in
the consumption of alcohol because he liked to have his senses should trouble
arise. Sorubb thought his father
weak and in a fit of rage and drunkenness challenged his father for the right to
rule. Being the large and enormously
fat ogre that he was, Marolt accepted the challenge. After this battle, Sorubb would
forever be remembered as Sorubb the Bloodyhanded.
The elder Tyrant climbed down into the pit in the center of the encampment. His loyal lieutenant Kugrut
Bonecruncher tossed him spiked club and ironfist.
Sorubb dropped down into the pit unarmed.
The crowd gathered around the maw pit as father and son circled around one
another. Finally, as if on cue with
the roar of the crowd, the two combatants charged each other. With a might crack, the two massive
forms collided in the center of the pit.
Biting and spiting on each other, it appeared as if Marolt would win the
match against his smaller, drunken and inexperienced offspring.
Just as the Tyrant was bringing his club down for the kill, Sorubb blocked the
strike and put his fist through his father’s chest and pulled out his still
beating heart. Quickly and messily
Sorubb devoured the heart while still holding Marolt up. Once he was finished with the heart,
he bit into Marolt’s throat, nearly decapitating him. As the body of the Tyrant landed on
the ground with thud, the roaring crowd became silent. Sorubb then devoured every last piece
of his father’s body except for the head, which he carries as a trophy.
Two decades have passed since then.
In that time, Sorubb has amassed lands along prominent trade routes and has
become a wealthy and impressively fat ogre in his own right. It is rumored that his wealth and
power has caught the eye of the Overtyrant Greasus Goldtooth.
A war is brewing through the lands.
Sorubb and his Bloodyhand Tribe as they are known will surely make sure to be
part of the carnage. It is not glory
that Sorubb seeks, but the two things that all wars bring; money to be paid for
mercenary work and the large amounts of bodies that can feed his tribe
throughout the winter.
Capital – The Emerald City
Farm – The Plentiful Plains
Road – The Road of Treasures
River – Imperial River
River – The River of Tears
Leading to the domain of Sorubb the Bloodyhanded is the Road of Treasures. As the name implies, one merely needs
to follow this road and it will lead to the Emerald City. While many merchants were regularly
waylaid by thieves while traveling, Sorubb has used his “persuasion” abilities
to use. Since becoming Tyrant and
running the second largest tribe of trading within the Ogre Kingdoms, attacks of
caravans are very scarce as you will undoubtedly become the next meal of Sorubb
should you have any negative effect on his trade deals.
Nestled between the River of Tears and the Imperial River lies the Emerald City. Not so much a city by human
standards, but more of a stronghold if you will.
This is the empire of Sorubb the Bloodyhanded. His capital city/stronghold is known
as the Emerald City not because of the green pastures that lie beyond, but
because of the wealth that exists within its walls.
The Imperial River runs along the western border of the city. A staggering 1 ½ mile wide and 75
feet, the river presents opposing armies the daunting task of crossing should
they wish to invade. The river has 2
bridges that span its girth, both of which are heavily guarded by a battalion of
Sorubbs finest ogres.
Along the eastern border of the city lies the River of Tears. The fast flowing currents of the
river make it nearly impossible to cross.
Luckily, a bridge spans the river to allow passage for traders, for a
small toll of course, so that they may make their way to the city should they
want to deal with Sorubb. The River
of Tears has claimed the lives of many who were foolish enough to try to cross
the rapids by foot or horse.
To the north of the city, but still within Sorubbs domain, lies the Plentiful
Plains. Some of the richest soil is
found here, growing an abundance of different foods. Living solely on a diet of red meat,
Sorubb, like any other ogre, could care less about the nutritional value of a
carrot, but knows what they are worth to other races, particularly man. Daily one can see scores of gnoblar
slaves toiling the fields producing countless food items in which to trade for
what ogres value most…money.
